Case Study
BIG TREE
DISTILLERY
Big Tree Distillery was founded by a husband and wife team who loved good gin so much they decided to create their own. The distillery is located in the Macedon ranges, Victoria and is responsible for creating a range of premium, farm crafted gins, using only the finest ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible and distilled on premise at Big Tree Distillery. They produce unique Gins that have to date won many local and international awards. Studio Von was consulted in 2022 to help modernise the brand and labels so it could represent in a more cohesive way the platform of ‘Australian Luxury’.
ELEVATING
THE BEAUTY
Looking at the existing label design with the treatment of the individual coloured labels for varianting over the multicoloured illustration – it was clear that a new design featuring brand blocking and continuity of colour would benifit the growing range in their portfolio.
We needed to elevate the botanical beauty and intricacy of the etched bottles by simplifying the labels to have more impact and brand strength. To add some quiet space and modernity to the label we created a stripped back architecture with a bold graphic addition with the aim to enhance uniformity across the portfolio. We then looked at finessing the design with premium cues of gold Foil Stamp and high build inks. The label refresh along with a new brand board, styleguide and activation material all work together to deliver a cohesive, premium and contemporary brand.
